Norwegian Marriage Customs

When you are getting married in Scandinavia, it’s important to pay attention to some of the livelier traditions. We asked wedding planner Mariella Gink to supply us the scoop on some of Sweden’s unique conventions.

Before marriages in Viking instances, the bride may take a bath to cleanse herself and symbolically scrub aside her female. Then she would bounce into frosty fluids to symbolize the change into womanhood. Her hair was even a big deal. It is common to see a gift registration at Swedish celebrations, but it’s not the norm to receive significant monetary accomplishments, as most people can afford to get themselves a present.

After the meeting, it’s time to honor! Swedish ceremonies are known for their longer, intricate dining functions.
